Description:
2nd in the Rosie Winter series, aspiring actress, WW II-era New York NY
Mystery Lovers Review:
Pittsburgh mystery writer Kathryn Miller Haines is back with a second WWII adventure in theater and crime for New York actress Rosie Winter, The Winter of Her Discontent. A boyfriend is MIA and Rosie’s cast in a play with shady characters lurking. The impact of the war on the home front is palpable in New York as Rosie and pals dart between rehearsals, darkened streets and the Stage Door Canteen while suspicious of do-good actresses in the show and mystery meat at the deli. A smashing number two to The War against Miss Winter about which I wrote –“Dead-on dialogue and period detail are the stuff that good historical mysteries are made of and this writer delivers with a bang.” Ditto!
