Mystery Lovers Review:
Take one part Sue Grafton, a dash of Patricia Cornwell, add a pinch of Janet Evanovich and you will have a hint of the unique voice of author Amanda Kyle Williams and her deeply southern, Chinese-American, PI Keye Street. Stranger in the Room is the second in a planned series of three thrillers set in Georgia. As in real life, nothing is simple in this plot: Keye tries to help her cousin figure out who is stalking her and why a crematorium is returning chicken feed instead of ashes to loved ones, all the while doing background checks and finding bail skips, and wondering if she will get to spend a romantic weekend with her police detective boyfriend. Even with chilling descriptions of crime, Williams maintains that southern sensibility of seeing the humor and as well as the horror of a situation, and that’s the way I like it!
