Description:
1st in the Leonid McGill series, PI, New York NY
Mystery Lovers Review:
Mosley launches an excellent new series set in contemporary New York that introduces an introspective, somewhat down-at-the-heels PI, Leonid McGill. McGill is hired by an Albany PI to find four men known only by their youthful street names. He's succesful if you don't count the fact of two of the men being murdered shortly after he turns over the list. The he finds the Albany PI is a fake and he's left with an ethical dilemma and a lot of explaining to the police. McGill is a complex character, just what you'd expect from Mosely and the book hums along with a combination of the central plot, McGill's personal problems with his family and his attempts to break away from his marginally criminal past. An oustanding series starter.
