We've made a little change to the mysterylovers.com website. Take a look and let us know what you think.
Most mystery readers have a set of favorite mysteries set in Italy or perhaps with a forensic anthropologist sleuth. You might have five favorite Roman mysteries or any other category you might enjoy.
We'd like to know what your Five Favorite... list is. You can pick any five mysteries that share some common characteristic or theme. If you send us your list we'll put it up on the website under our Five Favorite... category.
Here's how to get your Five Favorites up on the website:
Take a look at our Five Favorite... section to get an idea of what other readers have come up with.
A favorite author will be making his first trip to MLB on April 10. David Corbett will be out guest for a Coffee & Crime author breakfast on Saturday, April 10 at 10 am.
Corbett began his writing career with the Anthony-nominated The Devil's Redhead about a man who gets out of prison and finds that his former girlfriend's life has taken a new and deadly direction. More recently Corbett has turned his attention to El Salvardor, first with Blood of Paradise, a powerful crime novel that portrayed the corruption and criminality rampant in that country as the US deports thousands of Salvardoran gang members.
Corbett's new book, Don't They Know I'm Running, is a complex tale told on both sides of the border. It begins when the uncle of a young man is deported as an illegal alien. This begins a trek across the border, back to El Salvador in a desparate attempt to bring the Uncle back to his family. I guarantee that you will never look at the immigration issue the same way after reading this book.
Cost of the Coffee & Crime breakfast is $5 and reservations are necessary.

I don't have the slightest idea how this would work so I'm open to suggestions.
A nice assorment of New Arrivals as we continue to get April books. During the next week we'll see a much larger group of April titles so check back often to see what's come in.
Meanwhile, here are some notable new arrivals:
Ariana Franklin's A Murderous Procession is the fourth in her Mistress of the Art of Death series featuring Adelia Aguilar, the mistress in question, who is an early form of a coroner or forensic pathologist to Henry II.
The Black Cat is the 22nd Richard Jury book for Martha Grimes. Naturally, the title refers to a pub.
Matterhorn is an extraordinary novel that took its author Karl Marlantes over thirty years to write. Remarkably, its a Vietnam war novel and my initial scepticism was totally overcome when I began reading it. It is engrossing, horrifying, funny and immerses you completely in the experience of war. Based on Marlante's own experiences it is authentic in a way that few war novels are.
Shadow and Light by Jonathan Rabb is another of his pre-war Berlin novels with cop Nikolai Hoffner. This time its murder at the German film studio UFA and director Fritz Lang seems to be in the middle of it.
Janet Evanovich's very first book is being reissued with minor revisions: Hero at Large is the title.
Donna Leon's Inspector Brunetti is back for the 18th book, About Face, now in paperback.
Rebecca Tope's Slaughter in the Cotswolds is the latest for her house-sitting sleuth Thea Osborne
News books arrive every day check our New Arrivals page often for everything new at MLB.
