Dear %%First Name%%,
This Week's Special provides an enjoyable mystery through the combined talents of two authors: one a noted mystery writer the other a well-known TV celebrity. Get the inside dope on how TV is made, save 20%, get free shipping and an enjoyable mystery all with Our Weekly Special.
Don't worry, Mystery Lovers Bookshop has a deal for you.
Buy $25 or more worth of stuff and we'll let you take 10% off your entire order. This is a great opportunity to pick up some great gifts (or even books for yourself) while we still have stock on most of our holiday merchandise.
Our Holiday Catalog is out in the mail, available for download on the website and ready for interactive shopping.
Take 10% off your entire order if your order totals at least $25
Use coupon code fsf10 to apply the 10% discount
Get free shipping, even if your order includes non-book items not eligible for Media Mail.
As you probably know, we offer free shipping on orders of $10 or more but the holidays make our shipping policy a little more complicated. Since our normal (free) method of shipping is Media Mail via the post office, we cannot offer free shipping on orders that include puzzles, games or other non-book merchandise. If your order includes any of these we must ship your order Priority Mail and we'll have to charge you $4.50 for shipping regardless of the size of your order.
Please note that our website is unaware of this distinction and will still show Free Shipping for orders that include non-book items. Despite this, we will have to charge your the $4.50 shipping.
We apologize for any confusion this may cause but our hands are tied by the Post Office rules covering Media Mail shipments.
Status of a couple of popular items from the holiday catalog:
The Girl Who Kicked a Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson--out of stock but more copies in-transit from England. Please order now as these tend to sell out pretty quickly
Jane Austen puzzle--we thought this was gone forever but not so. We just received a dozen more
Portable Trader Joe's Cookbook--this little gem sold out incredibly quickly. We have a bunch more on the way, expected early next week.
Robox, build your own robot--we ran out of this quite quickly and so did the publisher. They hope to have more next week but we're not sure if we'll get these before Christmas.
Lady with a Fan jigsaw puzzle--a lovely image from a Gustav Klimt painting. New stock expected within the next week.
Double Shutter dice game--as of this moment, we have 2 left, after that they are gone until late January
Sherlock Holmes in Russia--postponed, possibly cancelled
Take a look at our November Best Sellers and you'll find a number of good choices for your own gift giving. We've even added a special section of kid's book best sellers because so many of them, especially pop-ups, made the list this month.
With such a long gap in emails we're simply bursting with New Arrivals. A good part of the December books are here with more expected within the next week.
As you'll note from the signed book update, our copies of Sue Grafton's U is for Undertow went on sale this week.
Among the new arrivals this week is a spledid reissue by Felony & Mayhem of Rosemary Aubert's debut novel, Free Reign. This was a truly original mystery that introduced a former judge, Ellis Portal, who has become a homeless vagrant after his professional life is destroyed. He stumbles across a murder victim with ties to his former life and his investigation leads to the renewal of painful ties to his family.
Check our New Arrivals for page for everything new at MLB.
I've recently been enjoying the reissue by Academy Chicago of the full set of six Charlie Chan novels by Earl Derr Biggers. I just finished Keeper of the Keys after the delicious pleasure of Charlie Chan Carries On. Written in the Thirties, these are spledid examples of the traditional mystery with the added spice of a somewhat exotic protagonist in the Chinese-American detective from Honolulu. All six are now available.
We've got some signed books that are coming (or are here) in the next few months. Quantities are limited so please place your order now to avoid disappointment.
