The August-September MLB News is available for download in PDF format. The printed version will go into the mail on Friday, August 24.

Sunday afternoon at MLB

We're open every Sunday from noon until 4 but this coming Sunday, August 26 we'll have a special treat with a visit from Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer, joint authors of the suspenseful and humorous Agnes and the Hit Man. Their previous collaboration, Don't Look Down was a bestseller, now available in paperback.

Bob Mayer is also an author in own right and has just published an exciting thriller, Lost Girls under the pseudonym Robert Doherty.

Why not stop by this Sunday to meet these talented authors and find out how two people writing one book can keep their sanity.

This Just In

New Arrivals this week are headlined by Diane Mott Davidson with Sweet Revenge, the 14th of her culinary mysteries, but there's plenty more including new books by Kathy Reichs, Michael Dibden, Walter Mosley, Margaret Maron and many others.

Check the New Arrivals page for all that's fresh.

Fall Coffee & Crime

We're pleased to announce a new Fall series of Coffee & Crime author breakfasts on three Saturdays in September and October.

Sept. 10 - We'll lead off with Alison Gaylin and her novel of Hollywood tabloid journalism, Trashed.

Oct. 6 - M.J. Rose will be here with her riveting thriller The Reincarnationist that takes the reader on a wild ride across the centuries and the continents.

Oct. 20 - We'll wrap up the series with James Swain and a standalone thriller Midnight Rambler. Swain's earlier Tony Valentine novels have dealt with casino cheats and scams and he's quite an authority on these shady tactics.

Each event begins at 10 am and includes a continental breakfast, talk and signing for $5. Reservations are essential and you buy tickets on the website.

Upcoming Events

August 26 - Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer
Sept. 8 - Coffee & Crime with Alison Gaylin
Sept. 10 - Book Club Dinner with Mariah Stewart
Sept. 14 - Rebecca Drake publication party

Happy reading during the lazy days of summer,
