Dear %%First Name%%,
You're in for a treat with This Week's Special as we take 20% off the first in a brand new series by a popular author who already has two succesful series to her credit. An impoverished aristocrate in the '20s is the heroine of this charming tale that is This Week's Special.
We hope that you were one of the many customers who took advantage of our Friday the 13th Sale. It was a great success and we thank all of you who ordered books during our deal.
The Private Eye Writers of America have announced their nominees for the 2007 Shamus Award. Books by some of our favorite authors, including Ken Bruen, Marcia Muller and P.J. Parrish, as well as some authors that may be new to you are among the nominees.
You'll find the 2007 Shamus Award nominees along with other award nominees and winners on the website.
James Lee Burke, Ruth Rendell and Minette Walters are just a few of the authors with new books in the store. You'll find the complete list of what's new in our New Arrivals pages.
On the British book front, we've got two books by Susan Kelly that begin her excellent police procedural series featuring Superintendent Gregory Summers of the Thames Valley police. Check British New Arrivals for the list.
"After witnessing the last Potter midnight madness first-hand, I'd wager the place to be is Oakmont's Mystery Lovers Bookshop, where another Harry Potter party awaits." So says Elena Passarello in the July issue of Pittsburgh Magazine. And who are we to disagree.
You won't want to miss our Harry Potter Party on Friday, July 20. We've arranged a showing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at 9 pm at the Oaks Theater, just down the street from the store. After the show ends at 11:30 we'll head back to the store for treats and giveaways and sale of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at midnight. We'll have butter beer, Bertie Botts beans and other treats along with a giveaway as long as they last. We'll be open continuously on Friday all through the evening so stop in whenever you like and pre-pay for your book to avoid the lines.
Please join us if you can.
July 20 - Harry Potter Party
August 4 - Alafair Burke Coffee & Crime
