Talk and Signing , starting at 2 pm at the Oakmont Carnegie Library: Sold Out

Talks and signing at the library is sold out.

You are invited to join us at the store at 4 pm for a signing with George Pelecanos and Michael Connelly at 4 pm.

We're pleased to announce a not-to-be-missed event, the join appearance of two award-winning authors: Michael Connelly and George Pelecanos. Both will be here for a talk and signing of their latest books at the Oakmont Carnegie Library on Sunday, May 31 at 2 pm. This event is sold out. Please join us at 4 pm for a signing with both authors at the bookstore.

Lila ShaaraMichael Connelly, a former reporter for the LA Times, brought his intimate knowledge of cops to bear on his debut, The Black Echo, which introduces LAPD detective Harry Bosch. That series, interspersed with occassional standalones, has continued through 13 books, most recently The Brass Verdict. Connelly will join us with The Scarecrow which brings back reporter Jack McEvoy, last seen in The Poet, for one last story before being laid off in the lastest round of cutbacks at the LA Times.

George Pelecanos is the author of 15 previous crime novels set in and around his native Washington DC although this is a Washington not necessarily familiar to tourists. With settings ranging from just after WW II to the present day, Pelecanos has documented, dissected and analyzed the state of Washington DC and its complex racial history in a series of novels that are gripping, authentic and though-provoking--all at the same time. He'll join us with his latest novel, The Way Home.

Author talk will be held at the Oakmont Carnegie Library at Allegheny River Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue, three blocks from the store. This event is sold out. You may meet the authors and have books signed at the store starting at 4 pm.
