Our Best Seller List for 2006
And now, for the bestsellers over the entire year of 2006 at Mystery Lovers Bookshop.
It looks like stopping into the store for an exclusive Pittsburgh event and linking for signed books will put you in the high numbers. Or you would have to be the sought after author of the Venetian mysteries, Donna Leon, the 2006 overall bestseller. A record number of publication parties for local authors of mysteries, thrillers, fiction, nonfiction and cooking books produced “boffo” sales, too. On the paperback side of sales, the bestsellers from May’s Sixteenth Annual Festival of Mystery with 50 authors and over 400 fans scored big. And, of course, the sales for Donna Leon eclipsed all. The trade paperback sales, as always, reflect the tastes and whims of various books groups we supply. In this mix we are certainly happy to have the Pittsburgh Public Schools Parent Readers Group back from hiatus for their reading pleasure. Others in this category came out of the sales we did for the Drue Heinz Lecture Series at Carnegie Music Hall, the Hadassah Annual Meeting and several visiting and linking authors.
Our best wishes to all for a healthy, happy and profitable 2007--with the accent on health!
